Demo at Sandown Park

On the 25th and 26th of August the Honda Challenge took place at Sandown Park race track. Gravitron took this opportunity to do an electric kart demonstration. Three karts were taken and to promote at a higher level, we were glad to have three professional kart drivers to give the demonstration and also give their professional opinion on how they compare to their petrol powered counterparts.

During the lunch hour the drivers suited up and took the kart out on the track with a huge crowd of spectators immensely curious as to how they compared with the petrol versions.

It was a spectacular performance and the surprise on the faces of the spectators was clearly obvious. The drivers pushed the karts to their limits, pulling 360 degree spins, doughnuts and power sliding through corners. Visibly the karts accelerated much quicker than the petrol karts before it and the stunts showed the viewers that the increased weight did not in anyway effect the handling.

Overall Gravitron were successful in showing that electric racing can be much quicker and more fun than previously thought.

Gravitron would like to offer the thanks to Oliver Welton, David Bright and Tom Gaymore who were the kart drivers on the day and gave a spectacular performance on the track.

We would also like to thank James Young Storage and Distribution for providing fuel and transport for the event.

And also our thanks to Paula Hamilton Motorsport Photography for providing photos of the event.

And finally Peter Gorman from Sandown Park for giving us this oppotunity.
