Battery Balancer

Batteries are an expensive commodity and as such it is important to protect the financial investment made in their purchase. Gravitron’s Battery Balancer is an effective, efficient and inexpensive way of ensuring maximum performance and life for batteries used in standby or cyclic applications. The Battery Balancer solves the problems of the traditional over voltage regulators, by balancing the batteries throughout the duration of the charge cycle.

Gravitron’s Battery Balancer compares the voltage of two batteries connected in series, during charging/discharging. If one battery has a higher voltage than the other, the Battery Balancer will cut back the excess voltage until the voltage of both batteries is equal. The LEDs on the Battery Balancer will indicate when the Battery Balancer is active; this provides a valuable visual indication for operators that batteries are being balanced. Should the LED remain on, the operator will be alerted to a potential problem.

The Battery Balancer does not limit the overall voltage of the battery pack, which in turn, allows the batteries to be charged with varying voltage algorithms. This is essential for the different charge voltages that are required throughout charging.
